Buckets, Dirt and Volume=real world learning

ImageThis is your typical math question that we deal with in our AWP-10 math book. We had a couple of students struggle with questions in chapter 3. So we thought we’d get some real world learning happening for our students and help them build their resumes and earn a paycheck.


cylindermath.jpgThey understand volume now. Next is the volume of a rectangle, removing or adding dirt to a specific area that is only 4″ high. Funny how they couldn’t put the above picture into their head but holding a shovel and figuring it out wearing work gloves, changes things for some.
